If you are an international student under the age of 18 then you may be asked by Immigration Canada to find a Canadian citizen to act as a guardian. It is your family who is responsible for satisfying this requirement. Additionally, all applicants who are competitive for admission to the University of Toronto are among the top third of their class who are Canadian undergraduate. For all international students whose native language is not English they should submit the proof of English language proficiency i.e. TOEFL score no less than 80.

Its Policy on Student Financial Support states that no student admitted to a program at the University of Toronto will be unable to enroll or complete the program because they do not have sufficient funds. This commitment to students who are Canadian citizens and permanent residents or being protected persons means that the University will supplement the funding provided by government sources.
